She was great at networking as well, always talking to producers and getting me the work in the next job. Very supportive. “You need that in this business because it is difficult. You’ve got to have someone who is very supportive of you being away on occasions and working ridiculous hours.” This year, an inquest concluded that Samantha died in March 2024 as a result of a cardiac arrest following complications of essential surgery. Warwick’s legal team have launched an investigation into whether Samantha died of alleged medical negligence. Warwick and Samantha first locked eyes on the set of the 1988 fantasy film Willow when he was just 17 and she 16. The teenage Warwick was by then already a rising star, having found fame as Ewok Wicket in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, while Samantha had previously worked on the 1986 cult classic Labyrinth alongside her famous father, Peter Burroughs. They married in the summer of 1991.
