Freddy Brazier has shared that Mother’s Day is the hardest time of the year for him as he reveals he’s been confiding in his late mum, Jade Goody, at her gravestone ahead of the birth of his first child.

The 21-year-old influencer tragically lost his mother Jade, the Big Brother star, when he was just four years old after she passed away from cervical cancer on Mother’s Day in 2009. Since then, Freddy’s father, Jeff, has raised him and his older brother Bobby.

Ahead of Mother’s Day this Sunday, Freddy spoke about how difficult the day is for him, as it reminds him of how he would have spent the day with his mum if she were still alive. Freddy, who is expecting his first child with his ex Holly Swinburn, has been visiting his mum’s grave to share the news of his impending fatherhood.

“I’ve often looked at people out with their mums on Mother’s Day and thought, ‘You’re so lucky… I wish I could have a special day with my mum,’” Freddy confessed in an interview with The Sun.

But now, Freddy says he will be able to create new memories with his daughter. “But now, I’ll be able to make new memories with my baby daughter,” he added.

Opening up about visiting his mother’s grave, Freddy revealed that talking to her provides him with comfort, although sometimes it’s difficult. “I told her what was going on with the baby and how I am feeling, but sometimes I struggle talking to a headstone,” he shared.

Freddy has rekindled his relationship with Holly, 22, after they initially split following a rocky period when Freddy partied in her flat and smoked cannabis while she was abroad. However, Freddy is now determined to be the best father he can be and showed his commitment by showering Holly with red roses during a romantic walk on Saturday, ahead of their baby’s arrival in April.

Despite the past tensions, the couple has been spotted together more recently and have confirmed their renewed romance. Freddy moved back into Holly’s flat and the couple are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl.

Freddy shared the exciting news that their baby girl will be named Isla Jade, explaining, “I think it’s lovely to incorporate the name Jade into her name as a middle name as I am sure there will be part of my mother in Isla.”

He also revealed that he was pleased to find out they are expecting a daughter. “I was so pleased when I found out we were having a little girl. I want to be protective of her and take care of her,” Freddy said.

Freddy also shared a touching tattoo tribute, getting “Isla Jade” inked in cursive script, and joked about how painful the tattoo was—especially since his daughter isn’t even born yet.

During the process of navigating his past and preparing for his future as a father, Freddy has made lifestyle changes, including quitting smoking cannabis. “I’m focusing on being healthy for the baby. I’m not partying or going out,” he shared.

Despite the ups and downs in Freddy’s journey to becoming a father, he has admitted that he is still adjusting to his new role. “I’m excited and a bit scared. I’m hoping the baby will help me grow,” he confessed, noting that he sometimes overthinks but is ready for the responsibility.

Freddy also opened up about his relationship with his father Jeff, who has been incredibly supportive throughout the process. “My dad has been amazing. He had to navigate bringing me and my brother up alone, which wasn’t easy for him,” Freddy said.

Freddy and Holly have also faced some concerns from Holly’s family, particularly surrounding the influence of Freddy’s grandmother Jackiey Budden, who had a legal dispute with Freddy’s father, Jeff, in the past. Despite these tensions, Freddy remains hopeful and positive about his future as a father.

“I’m excited, but I know that I’ll need to learn a lot. I’ve never changed a nappy before, but I’ll do my best!” Freddy shared with a smile.

The baby’s arrival is fast approaching, and Freddy has even packed a hospital bag with essentials for both himself and Holly, including his pajamas, a pillow, and a special leopard-print coat for the baby.

As Freddy prepares to become a father, he continues to keep his late mum Jade close in his thoughts, visiting her grave frequently for comfort and guidance. “I went there yesterday and had a little chat with Mum,” he said.

Despite everything, Freddy remains positive about this new chapter in his life, focusing on his family and stepping up as a father.
