True crime doc ‘better than Unsolved Mysteries’ to air chilling episode tonight

A chilling series airing on TV tonight has featured famous killers from Fred and Rose West to Ed Gein.

Fans of true crime shows are being urged to watch a popular documentary series taking an in-depth look at the lives and crimes of infamous killers from around the world.

Tonight, March 31, two episodes will be airing and both will focus on a different killer, with first-hand accounts of their behaviour explored.

World’s Most Evil Killers is the series in question, and episodes will be airing on Sky Crime at 7pm and 9pm tonight, with Sky being home to a number of true crime titles.

The first episode focuses on the profile of a vicious killer who is thought to have “murdered over 70 teenage girls and women in a reign of terror that started in the 80s”.

The second episode is about the case of “a man who attempted to start a new life after killing his 53-year-old wife and 17-year-old daughter”.

The series has aired for nine seasons so far and it made its debut back in 2017.

Sky’s synopsis for the series reads: “World’s Most Evil Killers delves straight into the stories of the world’s most prolific killers.

“Each episode focuses on one notorious killer and features first-hand accounts of their behaviour; such killers range from Fred and Rose West, Ed Gein, the Clown Killer, to the Milwaukee Cannibal.

“Accounts are also given by detectives who ran the cases, journalists who reported on them, relatives, experts on crime analysis, and sometimes even survivors.”

Viewers took to IMDb reviews to share their thoughts, with one hailing it better than the popular documentary series, Unsolved Mysteries.

They shared: “I’ve watched tons of shows like this: Forensic Files, Unsolved Mysteries, etc, and this one is really good because it examines killers I have never heard of.

“Most of the shows about serial or spree killers focus on the well-known ones we have heard of a million times, but this one (in addition to the famous killers) focuses on quite a few in the British Isles.

“I think the narrator and experts do a good job of adding insights that stimulate further understanding.”

Another viewer hailed it very interesting and informative, sharing: “I really enjoy watching this show. Very interesting cases from all around the world. The way each story is told is excellent.”

A third commented: “I appreciate the sheer number of experts, input from detectives and [survivors], and a number of family members and journalists – they keep it varied and supply a lot of interesting facts on each killer, from childhood to imprisonment and death.”
